Darcy Jackson is a native of Fayetteville, Arkansas. She grew up spending summers and holidays at her grandmother's house in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where a simple family ritual of watching the 10 p.m. news before bedtime sparked her interest in news reporting. She started writing short stories about local events at a young age and carried her interest of journalism into her academic career.
After graduating from Springdale High School, Darcy enrolled at the University of Arkansas as a freshman and worked full time as a production assistant at Fayetteville's local NBC/FOX affiliate KNWA / FOX 24, where she gained much of her newsroom experience during her collegiate years. As a student, Darcy has worked on various media projects with the University of Arkansas Athletic Department, some of which were aired regionally. She graduated in 2012 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
